The Rainbow Roots Project is seeking LGBT couples in the Chicago area to be a part of a new web-based series of mini-documentaries to be filmed in August. We are also looking for couples to be the subjects of profile articles for The Rainbow Roots Blog.
The quickest way to get to know someone is to see where they live, to see how they live, and to hear the stories that shaped them into the people they are today. Each family has histories and traditions that make them both familiar and unique. Our goal is to celebrate the life LGBT couples have built by recording for posterity their shared past and their daily lives.
The Rainbow Roots Project documentary series will focus on one couple at a time, and, through interviews and action shots, tell the tale of the life they have built together. Each short film will be 5 – 8 minutes in length, and the text from the interviews will be collected for publication.
Because the LGBT community spans all classes, races, religions, political affiliations, and genders, we are looking for a wide range of couples. Families with and without children are encouraged.
The Rainbow Roots Project wants to preserve your love, your laughter, and your legacy, but we need your help to do it.
