Civil Rights Showdown at the Carpenter’s Local

In their 24 years together, Darlene & Amirah have worked to open minds and hearts wherever they’ve gone.  But one of the moments with the sharpest contrast of inequality that they overcame happened on their first date in 1988.  Darlene’s local carpenter’s union held their annual dinner/dance, and, when she brought Amirah, it caused quite the uproar.
